How VettID membership works

From asking to join to voting rights, step by step. It takes a few minutes, and most of it happens in your email.

  1. Request membership

    Fill in the request form with your name and email. If a member or our team gave you an invite code, add it. No code is fine too.

    Right after you send the form, you'll get an email from Amazon Web Services titled “Email Address Verification Request”. VettID sends email through Amazon's email service (Amazon SES), and it will only deliver to addresses that have confirmed they want our mail. Click the link in that email — it's how you opt in, and without it we can't send you anything, not even a sign-in link.

  2. Approval

    With a valid invite code, your account is ready straight away. Without one, someone on our team reviews your request, and we'll email you when your account is ready.

  3. Sign in

    There's no password. On the sign-in page, enter your email and we'll send you a link. Each link works once and expires after 15 minutes.

    Never share a sign-in link — anyone who opens it can sign in as you. VettID will never ask you to forward one.

  4. Set a PIN Recommended

    A PIN of 4 to 8 digits adds a second step after the email link. If someone ever gets into your email, they still can't get into your VettID account without it. You can set one up in your account under Security.

  5. Accept the membership terms

    Read the membership terms in your account and accept them to become a member. You can also download them as a PDF.

    When you accept, we record which version you accepted and its fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash of the exact text), so there's never any doubt about what you agreed to. If the terms change, we'll ask you to review the new version.

  6. Start your free trial

    Once you're a member, you can start a free trial from your account. There's nothing to pay, and each person can use a free trial once.

  7. Voting rights

    Voting rights come with an active paid subscription. Payments are coming soon — we'll let you know when they're available.

Cancel any time

You can cancel your account from Settings whenever you like. It's switched off right away and permanently deleted after 7 days. Changed your mind? Email support@vettid.org within those 7 days and we can restore it.

You hold your keys. Not us.

Your keys stay on your device, under your control. VettID helps keep them safe, but never holds them.
